North is in a small, invite-only beta. This is a plain-language, honest account of how we handle your data today. It hasn’t been through formal legal review yet, and we’ll replace it with a counsel-reviewed policy before North opens more widely. If anything here matters to your decision to use North, email us and ask.
What we collect
Only what North needs to do its job:
- Your email, when you join the waitlist — so we can let you know when a spot opens.
- Your account details, once you’re invited and sign in (name, email, and the workspace you create).
- The work you give North — the meeting notes, client details, project scope, pricing, and proposals you create or paste in. This is your content; North stores it so it can help you with it.
We don’t ask for more than that. No tracking pixels, no advertising profiles, no buying data about you from anyone else.
Who processes your data
North is built on a small set of trusted infrastructure providers. Your data passes through them so the product can work:
- Supabase hosts our database and handles sign-in. Your account and your work live here.
- Anthropic powers North’s AI. When you ask North to draft or refine something, the relevant notes and context are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate the result. Per Anthropic’s API terms, this content is not used to train their models.
- Resend sends the emails North sends on your behalf (like a proposal link) and the occasional message from us.
- Vercel hosts and serves the app itself.
Each of these is a processor acting on our instructions, not a party we sell or hand your data to.
What we’ll never do
We won’t sell your data. We won’t rent it, trade it, or use it to advertise to you. We won’t feed your clients’ details into a marketing machine. North earns its keep by being useful to you — not by turning you, or your clients, into a product.
Your control
It’s your work. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data. Email us and we’ll take care of it. During the beta, this is handled by hand rather than through a self-service settings screen.
Changes & contact
As North grows, this policy will get more formal and more specific. When it changes materially, we’ll say so. Questions, requests, or concerns about your data: hello@asknorth.com.
